Swimming at Burkwood

Whether you are looking for casual enjoyment of the water, swimming laps, or lounging around poolside, Burkwood has three outdoor pools and two indoor pools available for your pleasure.

The indoor pool is an eight lane, 25-yard pool located in the fitness center and open year round for use. It houses programs for all ages including aquatic fitness classes, Masters swimming, swim lessons, swim training for kids, lifeguard classes, scuba diving, and more! There is also a separate wading pool for tots to enjoy.

The outdoor pools include an eight-lane, Junior Olympic sized competition pool, a second Z-shaped Junior Olympic sized recreational pool with a diving well, a shallow area, a separate wading pool for children with a refreshing mushroom-shaped water feature, two diving boards, two slides, a poolside cafe, and a covered pavilion area for eating and lounging. Summer swim and dive teams are available for those up to 18 years of age. Various special events are planned throughout the summer season including movie nights, holiday parties, and an annual end of summer crab and shrimp feast. These pools are open for use from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Our year round, full time aquatic staff is professionally trained and accredited with over 40+ years of experience.
